Volunteer opportunities

Co-Editor of Connections, digital magazine
Connections is the Quebec Family History Society’s magazine. The primary responsibilities for this position include:
- Finding and bringing submissions of content to the journal,
- Finding and bringing advertising to the journal,
- Co-vetting submissions, and
- Together with fellow co-editor, deciding on direction, content and arrangement of the journal.
This position does not need experience in the world of magazine publishing - although this would obviously be an advantage. It needs someone with the ability to constantly “scan” the genealogical world, searching out possible sources of submissions to the journal. It needs someone with the ability to communicate with prospective authors, in order to elicit submissions. Advertising in the journal would be much needed revenue. The coeditor would search out and elicit possible sources of advertising. The co-editors would be in regular communication to ensure the final product has quality, readability and accuracy.
