Research Services

QFHS offers a research service to help members and non-members find ancestors and discover their family history in Quebec.   This research is done using the resources of the QFHS Library
 
 
 
One-to-One Virtual Genealogy Sessions
 
Cost is $25 per hour for members and $40 per hour for non-members. Once your payment is received our researcher will contact you to set up a session on Zoom. All fees go toward QFHS operating costs.
 
 
Requests for research
 
The fee is $25 per hour for Members       $40 per hour for Non-Members
 
Open the Research Request form and fill in online.  Save it to your computer and then attach an email addressed to: qfhs@bellnet.ca.  If you prefer, you may print and send the research request form and your payment by mail.

To search for a vital record in Quebec, such as birth, marriage or death, you must specify the religion, e.g., Catholic, Protestant, Jewish.
 
Research requests are usually completed within eight-weeks. Some queries require in-depth research, while others can be answered quickly.
 
 

 
 
Professional research
For extensive research help, you may wish to contract the services of a professional researcher who is willing to conduct research in archival centres outside our library. All arrangements must be made directly with the researcher. QFHS does not guarantee the researcher's qualifications or search results.
